Monograph
As part of my undergraduate capstone, I designed and produced a comprehensive monograph to demonstrate proficiency in multi-page document design and information hierarchy. The project required originating a research-based concept and managing its development from initial idea through to final production. It showcases my ability to integrate authored text, curated imagery, and thoughtful layout into a cohesive visual narrative, while highlighting creative, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
Technically, the monograph was built in Adobe InDesign using advanced layout techniques, including master pages with grids, baseline grids, threaded text frames, and consistent typographic styling through paragraph, character, and object styles. I incorporated features such as auto page numbering, running headers and footers, and professional image handling to meet production standards. The completed, pre-flighted InDesign file—with all assets correctly linked and fonts packaged—serves as a portfolio-ready example of my intermediate proficiency in digital publishing and editorial design. This Monograph explores the history, usage, and development of type designer Zuzana Licko’s Mrs Eaves typeface.
